Ten for $10
Yesterday I went to the Ten for $10 show in Phoenix. It was pretty fun, the bands I wanted to see played really well. Terror, Madball, This is Hell, and Bane had awesome sets. I've seen Madball three times this year and their set last night was the best out of all three. I wish I would have seen Trapped Under Ice but we made a stop at In n Out Burger which I wasn't bummed about at all, I would rather miss Trapped Under Ice then feel terrible/ hungry the whole show. I bought a nice Bane longsleeve, I tried to buy the new Trapped Under Ice record but I waited too long and they were already packed up by the time I went around to buy some merch. I'll be seeing them soon in California anyway, so it's not a big deal. All in all, the show was a lot of fun.

Album Review : Explains it All by Four Year Strong
I really got sick of Four Year Strong about a week after I heard them the first time which was about a month before Rise or Die Trying was released. Ever since them I havn't been into them at all. I've seen them twice and each time was whatever. I had pretty much forgot about them until I heard their new album, Explains it All it consists of 11 covers from 90's bands including Third Eye Blind, Reach the Sky, and Smashing Pumpkins. The covers are actually done pretty well, some are a little chuggy and stuipid but most are good. My favorite is "She's So High" I've always loved that song and for some reason I think the cover is really good. Most of the time when bands I don't like cover bands I really like I hate their covers, but Four Year Strong is an exception. I don't expect to like this album in a month or so, but for now It will be on the top of my playlist on my iPod.

Bad to Worse
First of all, I had to work at 6:00 A.M. because I couldn't call in or just not show up like I've been doing because I am on thin ice yet again. Then, on my lunch break I wasn't even hungry but I ordered some pita snack thing from Jack in the Box and on the way back to work as I was eating it chipotle sauce spilled out all over my shorts. It was a lot of sauce too, so it was really noticable. I walked into work and made my way to my desk without anyone seeing me then as I turn the corner some fat, nu metal girl in an Invader Zim shirt looks at me then looks directly at the stain and won't look away. At the end of my shift I was going to clock out and this lady is standing in front of the machine you swipe your badge with just looking at the stain...again! That was really embarrassing and awkward. On the plus side, work was really easy, went by quick, and I got free Starbucks because the lady who works there remembered the last time I came in they were out of what I wanted.
After work I kicked it with this girl for a second then I came home and laid down because I was pretty tired. Later that night I got wings with David and Emily. A series of bad events occurred in the 50 minutes we were at Wing Stop. First, they had no bbq sauce so I had to dip my boneless wings in ranch and mild. The mild looked like "Ed's Sauce" from Good Burger though, so I guess that was cool. Then, the three boneless wings I got were way small and the fries sucked so I didn't even eat that much. Wing Stop also was out of Dr. Pepper but root beer was fine. Just when I thought the evening couldn't get any worse David says, "oh shit!" out loud and I turn around.....BAM!....my ex-girlfriend is about a foot away from me walking past out table with the weirdest look ever on her face. She didn't leave either, she sat their with her obnoxious friends and chit chatted for about a half hour then moved the party outside right by the door. So I had to walk past her on the way out.
I was trying not to make it weird or awkward so I didn't say anything or even look at her or her stupid friends (which work at Wing Stop, are way old, have great tattoos, and are REALLY COOL. I'm outside talking to my friends across the parking lot, trying on an Integrity hoodie, when all of sudden I hear my name multiple times in some sarcastic voice. I look over again and they all do a gum check but keep talking loud and obnoxiously, then we left. I just thought it was stupid that here I am trying to not be weird or awkward and I'm succeeding pretty well at it then all of a sudden they start saying my name and acting like five year olds.
It wasn't a very good day, but I guess it could have been worse.

It's Been a While
since I've updated this blog. Nothing much has been going on lately anyway. I've just been working and doing my summer school classes. I saw Bruno last Thursday at midnight with Will, Cassidy, and some other people. I thought it was really funny and a lot better done than some other comedies that have come out. I don't understand how people are so offended by it or why people don't expect it to be so raunchy. I've heard, "I can't believe he swings his dick around the screen...that's gross" I can believe it, if I didn't want to see dicks and hear funny gay jokes I wouldn't have gone to see it. That sounded gay, but you know what I mean, I expected everything that happens in that movie.
I saw Harry Potter at midnight last night too, all of my friends except one thought it sucked because they had read the books. I read the first three and decided it's not my cup of tea, but I thought the movie was entertaining. I wish it wasn't almost three hours though, that's a bit much, especially when it didn't start until 12:30 am.
Cassidy's birthday was today, we went swimming then bbq'd. It was fun and Will gave me How I Spent My Summer Vacation on vinyl because I did a flip off the high dive! It's been a good summer, but I can't wait for summer to be over and go back to real school.

Old School
I went to Ra this afternoon with an old friend from high School. It was nice catching up and reminiscing about high school. He's currently a student at the University of Chicago, so obviously I don't see him often. He's pretty much the only person I graduated with that I still am in contact with. A lot of the students I graduated with aren't doing anything with their lives, so when I run into them our conversation is always stupid. It was nice to spend the afternoon with someone I knew from my high school that actually had something good to say.
On a side note, mango lobster rolls at Ra are so good. I'm not typically a sushi person but I can't say no to those. I tried vegetable tempura too, it was pretty good. I really like Ra, it's by far one of the better restaurants Tucson has to offer.
