Today I went to my friends 30th birthday. For the most part it was filled to the top with awkward moments. Basically, it was like Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner at your grandparents home. All of the couples and older guests sit at the "adult" table while you and all the younger and unmarried people sit at the "kids table". My friends and I were all in the living room watching tv and all of these older couples, some even had kids, came and hung out in the kitchen while we all just sat our in the living room and talked with eachother. It was just kind of awkward because in everyone's eyes we probably all looked like we were 10, when in reality we're only 10 or less years younger than them. It's not a huge age difference but still there is definitely a difference. It was just kind of awkward.
During the day I picked up my check from work and saw Confessions of a Shopoholic, it wasn't bad. I always hate going in to the visitors entrance at work to pick up my check because there's all of these people waiting for interviews, filling out applications, or waiting for their orientation. They see me walk in with my badge proving I already work there and just sort of look at me like I'm a jerk for coming into their territory. I also think it's kind of hilarious because they look at me with envious eyes when they see my badge because I have a job and they don't and I'm getting my check right in front of them. It reminds me of the Family Guy episode where Stewie and Meg are grocery shopping and Stewie asks Meg if he can have a quarter to ride the ride out front to make all of the immigrant kids jelous. Haha, I don't know, I just kind of feel like that when I have to go in to the visitors entrance to pick up my check.
I saw Watchmen last night at 12:10 a.m. It was pretty good. I can name a few other movies I've seen recently that I enjoyed more though. However, if you have 160 minutes to kill or are into movies like that I do recommend it.
